LinkedIn: Blockchain Tops List of Most In-Demand Skills for 2020 | Blockchain, which is the underlying technology that serves as the basis for cryptocurrencies, topped LinkedIn’s list of most in-demand skills for 2020. According to LinkedIn, large companies such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, JPMorgan Chase and American Express are actively looking for people with blockchain expertise. “Blockchain has emerged from the once shadowy world of cryptocurrency to become a business solution in search of problems”, LinkedIn wrote. Last week accountancy firm KPMG reported that blockchain technology may soon be deployed to even control climate change.

Block.one calls the updated blockchain “faster, simpler and more secure. The improved software makes it possible to execute smart contracts “16 times faster” than before. EOSIO 2 now also supports Web Authentication (WebAuthn), an internet authentication standard that uses cryptography as extra security for private keys. Furthermore, multithreading is now supported, which means that computer CPUs on the EOS blockchain can perform multiple tasks at the same time. After a shaky start Google searches show an increase in search results for Bitcoin, following a growth of 2,96% of the coin in the last 24 hours at the time of writing. Notably, three of the top five regions reporting the most searches for the keyword in question are located in Africa. A possible explanation for this could be that cryptocurrencies are viewed as an attractive financial alternative.
